I've started a new blog and will no longer be using this one.  Direct yourself to http://www.xanga.com/mens_sine_animo if you want to know what I'm thinking, with minimal day-by-day commentary.

Also, Amsterdam/Berlin/Barcelona were amazing.  Barcelona not so much because of my wallet getting stolen.  But otherwise, I had a sweet time.  Definitely visit Amsterdam once in your life, if you've never been.

I woke up at 1 PM and just spent 15 minutes getting my phone to say "mail, muthafucka" whenever I get a text message.  All this productivity before dinner time is making me uneasy.

At 6 PM today, while walking across campus in 14-degree, windy weather, I decided to live in California for the rest of my life.

[ batman, wolverine, and alfred! ]

The Prestige was an amazing movie.  The acting, set design, and pacing were all great, but the script was simply one of the most intelligent and engrossing I've ever seen.  Lots of movies have surprise twists, but few are so well-integrated into the storyline and utterly surprising as the ones in this film.  Every time you think you've figured out the trick to the movie, the rug gets pulled out from under you again with an even crazier new realization.  Even with all the twists and turns, the movie makes perfect sense by the end, with plenty of "oh, so that's why that happened" moments to mull over afterward.   The story even raises some deep metaphysical and philosophical questions, although there simply isn't time to explore them fully along with the main plot.  I think the most amazing thing was just the thematic consistency.  Everything in the movie is related to magic and illusions, which also means you have to pay close attention if you want to keep up.

In summary, see that shit.

Of the character "Sally" referred to in the song, [guitarist Noel Gallagher] commented "I don't actually know anybody called Sally. It's just a word that fitted, y'know, might as well throw a girl's name in there. It's gotta guarantee somebody a shag off a bird called Sally hasn't it?"  -Wikipedia

Brits are sweet sometimes.
